Following an extensive elimination process, Reburn were crowned hottest new band after winning UCT RAG’s Launch Your Band competition. Entries opened in March this year, with the competition quarter finals taking place on UCT campus and the finale concert at Assembly on the 1st of May. The evening concluded with performances from both Cassette and Taxi Violence.

The overall prize consisted of a slot at Rocking the Daisies, a residency at Quay 4, vouchers from Marshall Music and Hybrid Media as well as a professional photo shoot by Sam Clark.

On the evening, playing against the likes of Heart Shaped Heresy and New Altum, Reburn exceeded the crowds expectations and proved that they definitely have what it takes to dominate RTD’s main stage. Formed just over a year ago, this is just the kind of talent that Rocking the Daisies is proud to endorse and forms part of their mission to bring you exciting, cutting edge music that will not only have you jamming along but will also shed some light on SA’s unbelievable home grown quality.
